Axcis Education are a specialised SEN agency working with schools and residential home throughout Merseyside. We are currently looking for dedicated youth workers to work within a number of schools for children who have been expelled from mainstream education. Youth workers are responsible for preparing and delivering activities to increase social and personal development of young people. They help them by taking advantage of their potential and increasing their confidence. Youth Workers deal with people aged 13-19 years old in different educational activities. These roles will be working with children within PRU and EBD Schools. As a youth worker your role will include; o Meeting with social workers and other professionals. o Undertaking group or individual sessions. o Providing counseling for young people. o Helping young people with problems in their lives. o Being able to work with a team. o Being patient. o Having strong interpersonal abilities. o Being able to deal with unexpected problems. o Having good knowledge about key aspects of young people. o Being confident. o Having special commitment with young people. o Having good written and spoken communication skills. o Having an educational youth worker background. Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open.
