Job Title: ASD Teaching Assistant Resourced Base
Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in education?
Axcis Education is expanding our team of ASD specialist Teaching Assistants to support pupils in mainstream Secondary schools across Manchester and Greater Manchester. We are looking for staff who are confident in de-escalation techniques and have Team Teach or similar accredited qualifications such as Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or Proactive Approaches+
Working in line with the SEND Code of Practice (2015), you will:
• Use evidence-based resources such as Boxall profile or Zones of regulation
• Help implement and review behaviour support plans
• Use accredited de-escalation strategies- from Team Teach
• Be aware of strategies such as emotion coaching and social stories
• Support emotional regulation and develop pupils’ social skills
• Work closely with class teachers, resource manager and external professionals
• Create a safe and supportive environment where pupils can thrive
• Help track progress and contribute to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
You’ll work in an inclusive and supportive mainstream Secondary school, within a resourced based specialised in meeting the needs of students with ASD (Autism).

We want to hear from you if you:
• Have at least two years’ experience working with children with ASD needs or behaviour that challenges
• Have a Team Teach or similar qualification that is in date (If you have previously completed the training, you must be willing to re-enrol)
• Have knowledge of trauma-informed approaches (ACE’S) and emotional regulation strategies
• Have a calm, consistent and compassionate approach
• Can form strong relationships and build trust
• Have a background in education, mental health, youth work, or social care, residential care
