Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
Learning Support Assistant – Post-16 College – Barking & Dagenham
From £95/day | Post-16 | Barking & Dagenham | Full-Time | Long-Term
Axcis are recruiting for a Learning Support Assistant to work in a post-16 SEN college in Barking & Dagenham, supporting students with a range of additional needs. The college places a strong emphasis on independence, life skills, and preparation for adulthood. Staff describe it as a rewarding and supportive workplace where every day brings variety. The site is accessible via Overground, bus routes, and has on-site parking.
In this role, you will be:
• Supporting young adults with learning difficulties and additional needs in lessons and vocational activities.
• Encouraging independence in areas such as travel training, daily living skills and workplace preparation.
• Assisting tutors to deliver engaging, accessible lessons tailored to individual EHCP targets.
• Supporting social and emotional development through mentoring and positive relationships.
What we’re looking for:
• Experience supporting young people with SEND (16+ experience is a bonus but not essential).
• A caring, patient and encouraging personality.
• Flexibility and adaptability to support across a wide range of subjects and needs.
• Interest in life skills, vocational pathways or preparing young people for adulthood.
