Axcis are looking for a night shift support worker to work with an essential organisation in Torquay who specialise in rehabilitation for adults who have acquired a brain injury or traumatic brain injury in their residential home. The home also supports adults with a range of complex needs including, Huntington's disease, Parkinson's disease, multiple sclerosis, motor neurone disease, strokes, physical disabilities, and mental health needs. The role will be 3 to 5 nights a week, with a pay rate of £11.41 an hour.
The residential home provides innovative person - centred programmes and activity plans to all residents including cooking, cleaning, budgeting, gardening, travel and transport and shopping. The building is a wonderful Victorian house in the quiet area of Torquay, surrounded by tall trees with huge grounds, where you can enjoy a great seaside view of the city.
The aim of the programme is to increase the level of life-skills each resident has, to get them ready to be more independent in to an apartment - style room. They then have the opportunity to progress in to an independent living flat. Your job role will be to develop the resident's independence and growth back in to the community, to complete their goals and ambitions. The ideal candidate must be caring, supportive and a great role- model.
Your role as a support worker on night shifts must be to provide personal care, emotional support and medical assistance, on call if needed by the residents. You must have at least 1 years experience as a support worker and obtain a level 2 or 3 in Health and Social care. The company also look for but not essential further qualifications such as:

This is a very specialist role which can give you great training and knowledge in a new field of support work.
