Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant Location: Sutton, London Pay: Paid to scale Hours: 8:00am- 4:30pm, Full Time Start Date: Monday 1st September We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive educational team in Sutton, London. In this role, you will provide essential support to students with special educational needs and disabilities, ensuring they can access a tailored curriculum and reach their full potential in a nurturing and supportive environment. Responsibilities: • Work in partnership with the lead teacher to plan and deliver individual learning plans for SEND pupils. • Assist with the development and implementation of inclusive teaching strategies. • Provide one-to-one or small group support to students, adapting to their specific needs. • Facilitate social and emotional development through positive reinforcement and support. • Ensure the learning environment is safe and conducive to student well-being. • Collaborate with other professionals, such as educational psychologists, speech and language therapists, and occupational therapists. • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding students' progress and any concerns. • Assist with the creation of visual aids and specialized resources. • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills related to SEND support. Qualifications: • Previous experience in a similar role or relevant qualifications (NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent in Teaching and Learning in Schools or Special Educational Needs). • A patient and empathetic approach, with a commitment to inclusive education. • Strong interpersonal and communication skills. • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. • DBS clearance, or willingness to obtain one.
