Axcis Education are currently looking to recruit a Support Worker to work in a residential house based in St Helens. The role is working with 3 males with autism and other specific learning difficulties. The successful applicant would need to have previous experience of working with adults with autism or similar SEND and have a full, clean driving licence. Restraint and de-escalation training would be an advantage to your application but not essential as full restraint training can be provided. You will be involved in the day to day routines; assisting with cooking, dressing, activities, managing money, personal care, dealing with challenging behaviours and following a care plan. You will also need to be prepared to take a service user out on activity days. The hours are 12 hour shifts either 8:00am-8:00pm or 9:00am-9pm, up to 37 hours per week to include weekends. Pays £9.50-£10.50 per hour. If you are interested, then please contact Charlotte Holmes at Axcis Education on 0151 448 2810.

This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.

Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer. The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.
