Graduates looking for work in special needs across Wiltshire
Are you seeking to gain experience within the special educational needs sector to enhance your career prospects? If so, get in touch.
We work with a number of mainstream, SEND schools, pupil referral units and alternative provisions within the area. We have some 1-1 positions as well as general in-class support, many of our roles start as ad-hoc on the day supply but many are extended into longer term and permanent contracts for people who develop good relationships with schools.
A real interest in working with vulnerable children or young adults is a must. The ideal person will be approachable, friendly, empathetic and patient. You could be working with children with disabilities such as autism, Asperger's, ADHD, Downs syndrome, Cerebral Palsy to name a few and you may be expected to administer personal care to those who cannot look after themselves in this respect.
Axcis offers competitive rates of pay and candidate care which is second to none and you will have a professional consultant who will be your personal point of contact throughout your time working for us. Axcis offers excellent training opportunities, including CPD training sessions on Autism Awareness, Team Teach, Behaviour Management and Non-verbal Communication, to name a few.
The ideal candidate will;
-Have a keen interest in building a career in working with special needs either within a school or residential setting
-Be able to provide a ten year working history with no gaps
-Have any previous special needs training (this is not essential)
-Hold an enhanced DBS certificate on the update service, if you do not have one, we can help you apply for this
-Be flexible and willing to help schools or provisions in any way they can
This is a temporary position.
If you are interested, then please contact Lee Harris at Axcis Education on 0117 373 6127.
This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.
Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.

All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.
