Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15 AM - 2:45 PM (except Wednesday, with the same start time but an extended hour ending at 16l:00 PM)
Salary: £90 - £95 per day (PAYE)
About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our dynamic team, at a trauma-informed school, located in the heart of Salisbury, Wiltshire. As a core member of our support team, you will play an integral role in delivering targeted interventions and fostering a nurturing learning environment for our students. You will be instrumental in providing academic support and guidance, as well as addressing the social, emotional, and behavioural needs of our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work collaboratively with classroom teachers to plan and deliver tailored interventions that meet the individual needs of students.
- Provide one-to-one support or small group sessions to assist with academic tasks, promoting educational engagement and progress.
- Implement trauma-informed strategies to support students who may have experienced challenging circumstances, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for learning.
- Actively monitor and record student progression, and communicate effectively with teachers and other staff members regarding student development.
- Foster positive relationships with students, serving as a role model and mentor to encourage a positive school experience.
- Assist with the preparation of learning materials and the maintenance of a clean and organized classroom environment.
- Attend and participate in relevant meetings and professional development sessions as directed by school leadership.
- Adhere to the school's policies and procedures, including safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Requirements:
- Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting, preferably as a Teaching Assistant.
- A commitment to a trauma-informed approach to education and the well-being of children.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building rapport with students, staff, and the wider school community.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
