Job Title: Key Stage 2 ASD Support
1:1 Teaching Assistant – Key Stage 2 (ASD Support) – Full-Time – Camden
An inclusive and welcoming primary school in Camden is seeking a committed and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Key Stage 2 student with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and eager to make a real, lasting impact in the classroom.
About the Role:
You will provide tailored, one-to-one support to help the student engage with their learning, build social and communication skills, and thrive in a structured and nurturing environment. Working closely with the class teacher and wider support staff, you’ll contribute to creating a positive, inclusive atmosphere where the student can feel safe, supported, and confident.
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver 1:1 support to a pupil with ASD, both in and out of the classroom
Implement strategies to promote emotional regulation and engagement
Support the student’s academic progress and social development
Work collaboratively with the class teacher and SEN team
Adapt learning materials and tasks to meet the pupil’s individual needs
Requirements:
Experience working with children with ASD or in a similar SEN support role
A minimum of 6 months' experience in a school setting (preferred)
Strong communication skills and a patient, empathetic approach
Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children and staff
Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, term-time only)
