Full-Time Teaching Assistant – Year 4 (SEMH Support) – September Start – Brent

Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
A welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Brent is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to provide full-time, one-to-one support for a pupil in Year 4 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs and challenging behaviour.
This role starts in September and offers a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in a child's school experience by supporting their emotional regulation, academic engagement, and overall development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 support for a student with SEMH needs throughout the school day
- Use effective behaviour management techniques to support emotional regulation
- Help the pupil stay focused and engaged in learning activities
- Build a consistent, trusting relationship that promotes confidence and independence
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCo, and wider team to implement and review support strategies
- Contribute to progress monitoring and communication with families and external professionals
Requirements:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEMH needs or challenging behaviour
- Confident, calm, and empathetic approach to behaviour management
- Able to build strong relationships and work as part of a team
- Experience supporting children with ADHD, autism, or attachment difficulties is desirable
- Full-time availability (Monday to Friday, term-time only) from September
