Axcis have a vacancy for a teaching assistant at a well respected secondary specialist school in Gloucester working 1-1 with secondary aged children with PMLD, aged 11.
The school is a popular special school with a great reputation and is rated 'Outstanding' by Ofsted. This fantastic specialist school uses a range of innovative teaching methods to help their students make the most of their educational experience. The school is small but well resourced and has a fantastic atmosphere upon entering the grounds. Situated in central Gloucester and with excellent links to public transport the school is easily accessible.
The role starts in September and is five days a week, full time and will go on till the end of the academic year. The position is general in-class support, you will go every lesson with the child and support them with their learning Experience of working with children with PMLD is essential and you will be expected to do personal care as well as manual handling. The child is non verbal and the ability to use Makaton would be highly advantageous.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced SEND teaching assistant who has worked with KS3 children with PMLD in a special needs environment.
