Job Title: Nursery Assistant
Full-Time Nursery Practitioner (Level 2/3 CACHE) – N17

Axcis Education is working on behalf of a welcoming and inclusive nursery setting in the N17 (Tottenham) area, who are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Practitioner for a full-time role starting in September.
This role is ideal for someone with a passion for supporting children with additional needs, particularly those who are non-verbal or exhibit challenging behaviour.

Location: N17, North London (Tottenham)
Start Date: September 2025
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (term-time only)
Contract: Ongoing long-term
The Role:
You will be joining a supportive early years team, working with nursery-aged children (2–4 years old) who require additional support. Your key responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 and small group support
Managing and de-escalating challenging behaviours
Supporting non-verbal communication (experience with PECS or Makaton is advantageous)
Collaborating closely with the SENCO, staff, and families
Candidate Requirements:
CACHE Level 2 or 3 in Childcare (or equivalent)
Proven experience supporting children with special educational needs, including non-verbal needs
Confidence in dealing with challenging behaviour
Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach
Desirable:
Experience with PECS, Makaton, or other alternative communication methods
Understanding of the EYFS framework and child development
Valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
