Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Are you passionate about supporting children with additional needs? A vibrant and welcoming mainstream primary school in the Levenshulme area of Manchester is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEND Teaching Assistant to join their team full-time from September.
You’ll be working within a well-established SEND provision that supports pupils across all primary phases – from EYFS to Key Stage 2. The children you’ll be supporting have a range of needs, including autism, speech, language and communication difficulties, and some who are non-verbal. Experience with PECS or similar communication systems would be highly beneficial.
The ideal candidate will have:
Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly autism and communication needs
An understanding of non-verbal communication strategies
Knowledge or experience using PECS (preferred)
A calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Flexibility to work with different age groups and adapt to individual needs
