Axcis are looking for teaching assistants to work in a college in Filton, Bristol. You will be working 1-1 with students aged 17-25 years old with mild learning difficulties, autism, ADHD and challenging behaviours. Hours vary from full time 9-3:45pm Monday to Friday, with a 4:15pm finish on a Wednesday or there are a variety of part time roles depending on the hours of the student's course.
The students study a range of coursesat the college and you could be supporting them with a range of subjects from adult literacy and numeracy to animal care, carpentry, mechanics and plastering. You will need to be experienced working with adults or children with learning difficulties, autism and behavioural issues. You will need to be patient, reliable, committed and patient.
We're looking for teaching assistants who are dependable and who want to really build a great relationship with the student they will be supporting as you will be working 1-1. You will need to be able to quickly build trust and rapport and we're looking for positive role models who can guide and mentor their student for the length of the academic year.
The college is state of the art with modern facilities with a Hair and Beauty Salon, IT facilities and a Construction Academy. Students can study a wide range of courses from A Levels, functional skills, early years to animal management. There is something for everyone and no day will be the same. There is ample parking facilities and links to public transport.

To work for us you will need to have a child and adult enhanced DBS on the update service. If you don't have a DBS on the update service you will need to get a new one with us which will cost you £46. To be on our books and be put forward for the role you will need to come in for a one hour registration meeting at our office by Temple Meads. We will also need a minimum of two references and they will need to cover the last year of employment.
