Are you a dedicated SEND practitioner looking for a new challenge? Axcis are working with a secondary SEND school in Bristol who are looking to recruit a LSA to work 1-1 with a YR9 child with Attachment Disorder. The role starts immediately and will run till the end of term at least. There is potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.
The secondary school is a large and well resourced with an 'excellent' OFSTED rating. It's popular with many of our staff and the school's permanent staff are very welcoming and supportive. The school's grounds are large and beautiful with a forest and a pond. The school is situated on the outskirts of Bristol so car drivers will be at an advantage.
You will need to be able to quickly establish trust and rapport with the child. They've had a very difficult home life and have just been moved to foster care. You will need to be empathetic, compassionate, calm and kind. The child exhibits challenging behaviour and needs a lot of reassurance and a positive role model. Attachment Disorder can be very challenging and we're looking for reliable and consistant learning support assistant who can fully commit to the role.
You will be supporting the child with all of their studies and you will need to work well with the class teacher and the school SENCO. The school hours are 8:30-3:30pm, we pay every week on a Friday a week in arrears. Don't delay - apply today for this excellent opportunity. If you don't have a CV ready, or haven't registered with Axcis yet, just give Charise Clarke a call on 01173 736127 to discuss this vacancy further and find out if you'd be suitable.
To work for us you will need to have a DBS on the update service, if you haven't already got one on the update service you will need a new one. As sponsors of the National Autistic Society and other notable SEND organisations, Axcis takes it duty of care to the profession seriously and we do our best to find only the best staff for the schools we work with. Axcis offers competitive rates of pay, a fantastic referral system (which pays up to £250 for referring your friends or family members to us) as well as useful SEND resources in our giveaways (see our Facebook page for more information on this!)
This is a temporary position.
If you are interested, then please contact Charise Clarke at Axcis Education on 0117 373 6127.
This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.
Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
Axcis is an equal opportunities employer. The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.
Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.
