Axcis are pleased to be working with a mainstream primary school in Easton, Bristol who are looking to recruit an experienced TA or teaching assistant to work 1-1 with a Y4 child with Cerebral Palsy till Easter. The role is full time and the hours will be 8:15-3:15pm Monday-Friday. This is a great opportunity to join a large school with brilliant leadership and structure. The school has been rated as 'Good' by Ofsted and it's popularity amongst parents, children and staff is clear.
The school is in Easton, Bristol it only has a small car park so you may want to use local public transport, there are great bus links and stapleton road train station is only a short walk away. The position is general KS2 in-class support - you will be supporting the child with their literacy and numeracy and will need to do some personal care and manual handling. Ability to use Makaton is essential and the school is seeking a TA with a friendly, can-do attitude who can quickly establish a trusting relationship with the child. The child uses crutches to get around. Ideally you will have worked with children with Cerebral Palsy before.
