About the Role
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a specialist school in Reading that caters for children and young people across the full autistic spectrum. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to join a passionate team supporting pupils with autism in both classroom and 1:1 settings.
The role is full-time, term-time only, and will suit individuals who are resilient, adaptable and eager to make a real difference.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support pupils with autism in accessing lessons and developing key life skills.
• Work closely with the class teacher and therapy staff to deliver tailored support.
• Use positive behaviour management strategies to encourage engagement.
• Promote independence, social communication and emotional well-being.
• Build strong, supportive relationships with pupils, staff and families.
About You:
• Experience working with children or young people with autism and/or SEND.
• A patient, empathetic and resilient approach.
• Good communication skills and a genuine passion for working with children with additional needs.
• Willingness to undertake relevant training (provided by the agency).
