Part Time Mathematics Teacher -
Axcis are working with a Secondary school in Calne who is seeking to appoint a teacher specialising in Maths to join their team. The view is to start in the middle of February on a part-time basis.
It is vital to the school that a positive learning environment is created, where both the students and the staff enjoy learning and where there are opportunities for pupils to progress into college or further work-related learning.
The successful candidate will be able to show the motivation and commitment required to achieve ambitious targets for the pupils they teach and be dedicated to providing a holistic education for their pupils.
This position would suit either a newly qualified teacher, or a more experienced colleague who would like to utilise, and further develop their leadership skills.
o To implement and deliver an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant and differentiated curriculum.
o To monitor and support the overall progress and development of students. o To facilitate and encourage a learning experience which provides students with the opportunity to achieve their individual potential.
o To contribute to raising students attainment. Main Areas of Responsibility: o To assist in the development of appropriate syllabuses, resources, schemes of work, marking policies and teaching strategies in the subject area.
o To contribute to the subject area's Development Plan and its implementation. o To plan and prepare courses and lessons.
o To ensure the effective/efficient deployment of classroom support o To work as a member of a designated team and to contribute positively to effective working relations within the academy Experience and Knowledge:
o Graduate in relevant subject and DfE recognised Qualified Teacher Status.
o Successful teaching experience at secondary level.
o Knowledge of National curriculum requirements at KS3 - KS5. o Understanding of the importance of having high expectations for all students, both of behaviour and academic achievement.
o Knowledge and experience of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students work. Skills and Abilities:
o The ability to work as part of a team and to develop and maintain positive relationships with teaching and other support staff.
o Good level of ICT skills.
o The ability to create a motivating and safe learning environment for all students. o The ability to communicate positively with parents/carers and where appropriate outside agencies in a way that facilitates effective links between home and school.
o Good communication skills both writing and speaking.
o Ability to lead and manage own work effectively and take responsibility for own professional development. Additional Experience:
o Experience of working with Special Educational Needs - SEMH and Moderate Learning Difficulties.
