Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Location: Plymouth Start Date: September 2025 Pay: £89–£95 per day Contract Type: Full-Time (Potential to become permanent for the right candidate) Axcis Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a friendly, collaborative team in September 2025. The school is an Autism-friendly school that supports children aged 4 to 16 with communication and interaction needs, including moderate learning difficulties and Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC). The pupils thrive in a nurturing environment where peer support is encouraged and staff work closely with families to achieve the best outcomes for every child. Many of the students also experience associated needs such as ADHD, dyslexia, or other specific learning difficulties. The Role: As a Teaching Assistant, you will: Support pupils across a range of ages and abilities, helping them to access learning in a way that suits their individual needs. Work closely with teachers, therapists, and other staff members to implement EHCPs and personalised learning strategies. Promote a calm, structured, and inclusive learning environment. Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and their families. The Ideal Candidate: Experience working with children or young people with Autism is highly desirable. Must demonstrate a patient, empathetic, and resilient approach. Able to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required. Committed to promoting inclusion and supporting pupils’ social and emotional development. Willing to learn and grow within the role, with potential for long-term opportunities. Why Join us?
