Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Location: Hillingdon (Between Northolt and Southall)
Hours: 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday to Friday
Start Date: ASAP (Trial days available before summer holidays)
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term (Potential to become permanent)
About the Role
Axcis is proud to be working with a warm, well-resourced special primary school in Hillingdon that is seeking a committed and enthusiastic SEND Teaching Assistant. This nurturing school supports around 100 pupils, all with EHCPs and SEMH diagnoses-many with additional needs including ASD and ADHD.
Key Responsibilities
-Deliver 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD
-Assist in creating a calm, supportive learning environment
-Implement positive behaviour management and de-escalation strategies
-Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff
-Build trusting relationships with students to help them succeed emotionally and academically
The Ideal Candidate
-Experience supporting children with SEMH, ASD, and ADHD
-Confident managing challenging behaviour using de-escalation strategies
-Team Teach (or similar) behaviour management training highly desirable
-Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
-Friendly, proactive, and able to hit the ground running
