Job Title: Teaching Assistant Location: Bolton, Lancashire Start Date: 02/06/25 --- We are seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team in the vibrant town of Bolton, Lancashire. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting children across the Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 age range and possess experience in handling ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder) and challenging behaviors. **Responsibilities:** - Assist the lead teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences. - Develop supportive and nurturing relationships with students, providing individual attention as required. - Work with children with varying needs, including ASD, implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and using appropriate communication tools and strategies. - Manage students with challenging behaviors positively and effectively, using de-escalation techniques and adhering to school policies. - Support the classroom teacher in assessing students' progress, providing feedback, and helping to track developmental milestones. - Collaborate with other professionals such as SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator), parents, and external agencies to support students' well-being and development. - Assist with the general care of the students, including organizing learning materials and creating a safe and tidy environment. - Participate in school events, training, staff meetings, and continuing professional development (CPD) opportunities. **Qualifications:** - NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent qualification in Childcare or Education is preferred. - Proven experience as a teaching assistant, with knowledge of the KS1 and KS2 curriculum. - Experience dealing with children who have ASD and challenging behavior. - Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures. - A patient, caring, and creative individual capable of engaging and inspiring children. - Ability to work cooperatively with staff, parents, and external agencies. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - A commitment to ongoing professional development and learning. **Benefits:** - Competitive salary. - Opportunities for professional growth and career advancement. - Supportive working environment dedicated to staff wellbeing and development. - Pension scheme. **How to Apply:** If you believe you have the dedication and skills to thrive as a Teaching Assistant within our dynamic team, please submit your CV and a cover letter detailing your relevant experience and qualifications.
