Axcis are proud to be working with a specialist SEND provision in Tower Hamlets who are seeking an experienced and passionate SEND Teacher to support pupils with autism and complex learning needs.
This is a well-resourced, structured setting with small class sizes and a strong team of experienced Teaching Assistants. The school is looking for a teacher who understands that progress for SEND pupils looks different — and who can deliver practical, differentiated and communication-rich lessons that genuinely engage learners.
The provision is easily accessible via DLR and Underground routes and benefits from strong leadership and a collaborative SEND team.
About the Role
You will be teaching a small class of pupils with autism and additional needs, supported by multiple TAs.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Planning and delivering highly differentiated lessons
• Embedding communication strategies into daily teaching
• Supporting pupils with sensory regulation and structured routines
• Leading and directing support staff within the classroom
• Contributing to EHCP targets and progress reviews
• Creating a calm, safe and engaging learning environment
This role requires structure, patience and strong classroom leadership.
What We’re Looking For
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential
• Experience teaching pupils with autism or complex SEND
• Strong behaviour management and classroom structure
• Understanding of sensory needs and communication approaches
• Confident leading a team of Teaching Assistants
• Commitment to full-time, long-term work
