Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistants / Behaviour Mentors – Primary PRU

Our Primary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Wallington is seeking full-time, long-term SEND Teaching Assistants / Behaviour Mentors to support pupils with high needs, starting Monday 3rd November. Location: Wallington, Surrey (SM6) Contract: Full-time, long-term Start Date: Monday 3rd November About the Role: You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide personalised support for pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The role focuses on fostering positive behaviour, supporting learning, and helping pupils achieve their full potential in a structured and nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Support pupils with high needs, including those with SEMH (Social, Emotional, Mental Health) and complex behaviour needs. Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions, including behaviour management and mentoring. Assist teachers in planning and implementing personalised learning activities. Monitor and report on pupil progress, behaviour, and wellbeing. Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment. Person Specification: Experience supporting pupils with high needs, ideally in a PRU or SEND setting. Strong understanding of behaviour management strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to working with pupils.
