1:1 SEND Learning Support Assistant – Primary – Bow, Tower Hamlets £100–£115 per day | Full-Time | Long-Term | Bow Axcis Education is recruiting a patient, proactive and relationship-focused SEND Learning Support Assistant to work within a primary school in Bow, Tower Hamlets, providing dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with additional needs. This is a long-term role for someone who understands the importance of consistency. You’ll be helping the pupil access classroom learning, manage routines and transitions, and develop greater confidence, independence and engagement across the school day. The school is looking for someone who can build trust without creating dependency — offering the right level of reassurance and support while gradually encouraging the pupil to do more for themselves. About the Role - Providing dedicated 1:1 SEND support within a primary school - Helping the pupil access English, Maths and wider classroom learning - Supporting focus, engagement and understanding of tasks - Following individual EHCP targets and support strategies - Helping with transitions, routines and changes throughout the day - Supporting communication and emotional regulation where required - Breaking learning into clear, manageable steps - Working closely with the class teacher, SENCO and wider SEND team - Encouraging the pupil to develop confidence and independence About You We would particularly like to hear from candidates who: - Have previous experience as a SEND LSA, Teaching Assistant or 1:1 support worker - Have supported primary-aged pupils with additional learning needs - Have experience with Autism, ADHD, speech and language or SEMH – desirable - Can build a strong relationship while maintaining clear boundaries - Understand how to scaffold learning without completing work for the pupil - Are calm, patient and able to adapt when a child is finding something difficult - Hold a CACHE Level 2 or Level 3 qualification – desirable but not essential - Can commit to a full-time, long-term role The School & Location The role is based within a primary school in Bow, Tower Hamlets, with strong transport links via the District, Hammersmith & City and DLR networks, as well as good connections from Stratford and wider East London.
