Job Title: Nursery Teaching Assistant Location: Surbiton, Surrey Pay: Paid to scale Hours : 8:00am-4:30pm Start Date: Monday 1st September We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Nursery Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team at a well-established nursery in Surbiton, Surrey. The successful candidate will possess a warm and nurturing demeanour, excellent communication skills, and a genuine love for early years education. Key Responsibilities: • Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing educational activities that promote physical, intellectual, and social development of children aged 2-5 years. • Create a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment where children can explore and learn. • Support children with their learning and play, adapting activities to meet individual needs. • Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, ensuring effective communication. • Monitor children’s progress and provide feedback to the lead teacher. • Help maintain a clean and organized classroom, including setting up materials and preparing snacks. • Assist in managing children’s behaviour, consistently applying agreed-upon strategies. • Ensure the welfare and safety of all children, adhering to the nursery’s safeguarding policies. Qualifications: • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Childcare and Education. • Experience working in an early years setting. • Strong knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). • First aid qualification is desirable. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team player with a proactive approach and the ability to work independently when required.
