Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant, Challenging Behaviour, Knowsley
JOB LOCATION:

Axcis Education requires a higher level teaching assistant to work in a secondary inclusion unit based in Knowsley. As a HLTA / Cover Supervisor you will be expected to deliver the whole class using the work that has been set. The main objective is to oversee the smooth running of lessons, keeping students on track, helping struggling students and managing behaviours. The class sizes are between 5-12 students who have a variety of needs such as social emotional mental health, autism, ADHD, attachment disorders and behavioural issues. The school offers students and staff a positive and supportive environment. The role will be Monday to Friday 8:30AM-3:30PM, paying £65-£70 per day. Applicants should have a degree in any subject or hold a HLTA or level 3 teaching assistant qualification. Experience of working in an education setting is essential. This is an ideal role for someone looking to build up their confidence before considering teaching or wanting to work in a special needs setting.

This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.

Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.

Axcis is an equal opportunities employer. The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.

Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.
