Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant
Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant Pay: £89 a day Hours- 8:00am-4:30pm Location- London, SW18 We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled SEMH Teaching Assistant to join our educational team, who will provide exceptional support for students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This role is essential to foster an effective learning environment for pupils displaying a range of challenges including disruptive behaviour, learning difficulties, anxiety, and issues regarding respect for authority. Key Responsibilities: • Offer tailored one-to-one or small group support to students with SEMH needs, following individual education and behavioural plans. • Develop trusting, respectful relationships with students, understanding their individual barriers to learning and helping them to engage constructively with the curriculum. • Work in collaboration with senior staff, contributing to the creation of action plans and behaviour management strategies, and assisting in their implementation. • Promote positive behaviour and provide timely interventions to pre-empt and respond to instances of conflict or emotional distress. • Monitor and report on student progress, liaising with teachers, parents, and external agencies where necessary. • Participate in training and development activities to enhance your understanding of SEMH challenges and to stay up to date with best practices in supporting affected students.
