Axcis Education is proud to be working with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in West Drayton. The school is dedicated to supporting every child’s individual learning journey, with a strong focus on pupils with complex Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
They are currently seeking a kind, proactive, and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join the school’s specialist provision within a mainstream setting, supporting reception-aged pupils. The role involves a strong focus on sensory play and bucket play activities.
About the Role
In this role, you will work closely with the class teacher and two other Teaching Assistants to provide consistent, structured support for pupils with Autism, ADHD, and other complex learning needs.
Key Responsibilities
-Deliver 1:1 and small group support
-Provide academic and emotional support in line with EHCP targets
-Help pupils stay focused, engaged, and regulated throughout the school day
-Support communication development within a language-friendly classroom
-Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
-Assist with personal care tasks where required (e.g. toileting)
-Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
What We’re Looking For
-Experience supporting children with Autism, ADHD, or similar complex needs
-Confidence supporting SEND pupils within a school setting
-A strong understanding of the UK national curriculum
-A calm, empathetic, and patient approach to behaviour support
-Willingness to support with personal care when required
-Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
-A nurturing, proactive mindset and strong teamwork skills
