Job Title: Teaching Assistant in SEND school
Location: Yate, Bristol Pay: £14.25 per hour Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm, Monday to Friday Contract: Full time, with the potential to become permanent after 12 weeks Are you looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference to young people? We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming SEND school in Yate, supporting early years aged pupils with autism and learning needs. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is patient, caring and genuinely wants to help children feel confident, included and ready to learn. You do not need previous experience as a Teaching Assistant. We are particularly interested in hearing from graduates, carers, support workers, youth workers and sports coaches who can bring the right personality, values and motivation to the role. You will work closely with teachers and other support staff to help pupils take part in lessons, develop communication skills, build independence and enjoy their learning. You will need to be calm, consistent and able to build positive relationships with children who may need additional support. The learning environment has a strong focus on inclusion, communication and language, purposeful adult interaction and helping every child make progress. Recent Ofsted monitoring also highlighted improvements in SEND support, the use of visual approaches and targeted interventions, alongside a growing culture of belonging and positive attitudes to learning. The school itself is rated Outstanding by Ofsted, with outstanding judgements for the quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management. If you are enthusiastic, compassionate and keen to start or develop a career in education, this could be an excellent opportunity. Apply today to be considered for this Teaching Assistant role.
