Teachers in Wiltshire open to special needs
Due to growing demand Axcis Education is appealing to secondary and primary teachers that are interested in making a change into SEND. Perhaps you are recently qualified and find that teaching in mainstream is not what you had hoped? Whatever your reasons may be, get in touch and find out how we can help you today?
In an area as large as Wiltshire there are numerous special needs schools always on the lookout for new teachers where you can apply your subject specialism or more. In case you have not really thought about it before, it is not just SEND schools that you could take your next role in. There are PRUs, alternative provisions and prisons for example that could be on the lookout for a teacher. There is certainly more than one way to make a difference. If working as a classroom teacher is not for you anymore, perhaps tutoring is something you may be interested in. Many teachers provide an invaluable service to pupils that have to be taught at home.
Opportunities can include both longer term and day to day - it all depends on your preferences!
When teaching pupils with additional needs, we are looking for teachers that are resilient to difficult situations and more challenging children. You will need to be empathetic and of course patient in your teaching style.
The ideal candidate will have;
- A relevant teaching qualification with UK qualified teaching status (QTS)
- A proven background in working with children with special needs within a mainstream setting would be advantageous
- Good curriculum and subject knowledge in line with their specialism and a proven track record of good attainment
- A can do attitude and willingness to help a school or provision in anyway they can
- An enhanced DBS certificate on the update service (if you don't have one, we can help you apply for one)
- Flexible availability according to a schools needs and be able to work at short notice (if applicable)
This is a temporary position.
If you are interested, then please contact Lee Harris at Axcis Education on 0117 373 6127.
This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.
Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
