The Role As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will: • Support students aged 5–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs • Work 1:1 or in small groups to promote engagement and positive behaviour • Implement behaviour support plans and de-escalation strategies • Help students regulate emotions and develop coping skills • Support learning both inside and outside the classroom • Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals • Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils Many students may have additional needs such as ADHD, autism, trauma backgrounds, or challenging behaviour. Experience in similar settings is highly desirable.
