SEN Teacher – Special Needs School Location: South Harrow Start Date: April 2026 (flexible) Contract: Full-Time | Monday to Friday, 8:00am–4:00pm Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience About the School This welcoming and well-resourced special needs school in South Harrow provides a nurturing and inclusive environment for pupils aged 5 to 16. All students are working at learning levels up to Lower Key Stage 2, and the school is highly experienced in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The school places a strong emphasis on structure, consistency, and emotional wellbeing. Staff work collaboratively to ensure every child is supported to reach their full potential—academically, socially, and emotionally. About the Role The school is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teacher to join their team from April 2026. This is a full-time teaching role where you will: • Plan and deliver personalised and engaging lessons tailored to individual learning needs • Support pupils with ASC and SEMH, using structured and nurturing teaching approaches • Create a calm, predictable, and inclusive classroom environment • Work closely with Teaching Assistants, therapists, and families to ensure consistent support • Adapt teaching strategies to suit a wide range of abilities and learning styles • Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation, and independence • This role is well-suited to a qualified teacher who is passionate about SEND education and thrives in a supportive, specialist setting. About the Person To be considered for this role, you must have: • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential • Proven SEND experience as a Teacher, particularly with ASC and SEMH • Confidence managing a range of needs and behaviours in a specialist setting • A flexible, patient, and compassionate teaching style • Strong classroom organisation and behaviour management skills • The ability to adapt lessons for pupils working below age-related expectations Experience using communication systems such as Makaton or PECS is desirable but not essential. Most importantly, you will be a committed SEN Teacher with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
