Job Title: Sports Coach
Sports Coach – SEMH School – Stockport
Are you a sports coach looking to take the next step in your career? Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people who need extra support? If so, this could be the perfect opportunity for you!
Axcis Education is working with a specialist SEMH school in Stockport that supports students aged 11–16 with social, emotional and mental health needs. The school is looking for an enthusiastic and resilient Sports Coach who’s ready to bring their passion for sport and teamwork into an educational setting.
This Ofsted “Good” school provides a nurturing environment for pupils who find mainstream education challenging. Most students are male and have additional needs such as Autism, ADHD, MLD, and challenging behaviour. Staff at the school are dedicated, caring and creative in their approach – and they’re looking for someone who can bring that same energy.
Role details:
• Start date: After October half-term (ideally 3rd November)
• Hours: 8:30am – 3:15pm, Monday to Friday
• Pay: £90 per day (PAYE)
• Location: Stockport (good public transport links and on-site parking)
In this role, you’ll support across various lessons, with a focus on PE and outdoor education – leading small groups and helping students develop confidence, teamwork and resilience. When you’re not in a sports setting, you’ll assist in the classroom to keep pupils engaged in their learning.
If you’re confident managing behaviour, enjoy working as part of a supportive team, and want to use your coaching skills to inspire young people, we’d love to hear from you!
