Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Teaching Assistant – Primary | Special Educational Needs (SEN) | £90–£95 per day | September Start
A welcoming specialist Primary school is seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join the team this September. This rewarding opportunity involves supporting pupils aged 5–11 with a range of learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and communication and interaction difficulties.
The school provides a nurturing and inclusive environment where education is carefully tailored to meet individual needs. Pupils are supported to grow academically, socially, and emotionally, with the ultimate aim of preparing them for a positive, independent future within their community.
The Role:
Supporting teaching and learning under the guidance of class teachers and specialists
Promoting pupil development across academic, social, emotional, and physical domains
Assisting with personalised strategies to support communication, interaction, and self-regulation
Delivering targeted one-to-one or small group interventions
Creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment
The Ideal Candidate:
You will bring both experience and empathy to the role, and will:
Have previous experience working with children with special educational needs, particularly ASC and communication difficulties
Be patient, compassionate, and committed to helping every child thrive
Work effectively as part of a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and families
Be adaptable to meet the varied and evolving needs of pupils
Have a good understanding of safeguarding and inclusive practice
