Job Title: Youth Support Worker in Education
Youth Support Worker in Education
Full-time (09:00–16:00, four days a week)
£13.70 per hour
Start in September, permanent after a 16-week settling-in period
Are you someone who naturally connects with young people, especially those aged 16–19 with complex needs, learning disabilities or autism? We’re seeking a motivated individual to join us in partnership with a further education provider in central Bath to provide 1:1 support and build lasting trust.
What you’ll do:
Work closely with a young person on a tailored programme, helping them access learning, life skills and social activities.
Provide reassurance, encouragement and practical support in classes and beyond.
Help the student feel safe, engaged, and included in college life.
Collaborate with a friendly team of teachers and inclusion staff.
What matters most:
This role is ideal for someone who’s energetic, patient, emotionally aware and committed. While any experience in youth work, support work or coaching is a bonus, what really matters is your attitude and ability to build positive, respectful relationships. You might already be working as a support worker, youth worker, sports coach or similar—if you’re patient, resilient and driven by seeing progress in others, you could thrive here.
Why you’ll enjoy this role:
A welcoming, inclusive environment where every learner is supported. The college’s most recent Ofsted report graded its high-needs provision as Good, highlighting a “purposeful environment” and staff who know their learners well
A commitment to inclusive learning, with structured pathways like sensory-based and life-skills provision tailored to students with EHCPs
Rewarding day-to-day work that draws on your interpersonal skills—not just paperwork or formal lesson planning.
Apply today to become a vital part of this inclusive education community. If you’re the sort of person who wants to make a real difference, bring energy, positivity and compassion every day—this is for you.
