Hours: Monday to Friday | 9:00am – 3:45pm
Setting: Specialist SEND School (Primary & Secondary)
A nurturing SEND school in Sutton is looking for compassionate and committed Teaching Assistants to join their team this September. The school supports pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) and complex medical needs, offering a highly specialist and person-centred learning environment.
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals with a kind nature, empathetic approach, and a genuine passion for supporting students with high levels of need.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to students with PMLD and medical needs
• Assist with personal care, feeding, and medical routines as required
• Support access to a sensory and communication-focused curriculum
• Use visual aids, AAC, and other communication strategies
• Work closely with a multidisciplinary team including therapists and nurses
• Maintain a calm, consistent, and caring presence in the classroom
Ideal Candidate:
• Experience in a SEND, care, or medical support setting (preferred but not essential)
• Comfortable with personal care and supporting medical needs
• Empathetic, patient, and physically fit for manual handling (training can be provided)
• A team player with a strong commitment to inclusion
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
