Axcis are recruiting for a SEND Teaching Assistant at a well respected pupil referral unit in Wigan working with secondary pupils with challenging behaviour aged between 13 and 16.
This fantastic pupil referral unit uses a range of innovative teaching methods to help their students make the most of their educational experience.
The pupil referral unit has a very nurturing culture where the pupils are given engaging lessons, therapeutic sessions and regular outdoor activities and trips.
The position is general in-class support - you must have a calm demeanour and resilient nature. Experience of working with young people with challenging behaviour is essential and we would love to hear from you if you have training and experience using Team Teach techniques.
The role starts as soon as your vetting is cleared (usually around 1 to 2 weeks) and is five days a week, full time and will go on till the end of the academic year, with the opportunity to become a permanent team member. Hours are 8.45pm until 3.30pm. The pay is between £70 and £75 per day.
If you are a resilient, caring, friendly and patient individual then this could be just the kind of role you're looking for.
The ideal candidate will be an experienced SEND teaching assistant trained in Team Teach and who has worked with KS3 and KS4 pupils with challenging behaviour.
At Axcis, we value our teachers and support staff and the hard work they put in on a daily basis. This is why we always offer competitive rates of pay to ensure that their skills and experience are recognised.
This is a temporary position.
If you are interested, then please contact Rebecca Donnelly at Axcis Education on 0151 448 2810.
This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.
Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
Axcis is an equal opportunities employer. The company is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
All staff will be subject to our stringent vetting procedures, which include an enhanced DBS, full work history, references and a face-to-face interview.
Axcis Education is an employment agency offering temporary supply work for daily, short-term and long-term assignments in addition to permanent positions.
