Axcis Education is looking for an enthusiastic teacher to join a supportive mainstream primary setting in Oldham, where you will play a key role in creating an inclusive classroom environment for learners with a range of additional needs, including Autism and ADHD. About the Role: As a class teacher with a focus on SEND support, you will plan, deliver and assess lessons that are inclusive, engaging, and adapted to meet the diverse needs of your pupils. Working closely with support staff, SENCOs and external professionals, you will ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive—academically, socially and emotionally. Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons in line with the National Curriculum, with adaptations to support pupils with SEND. Create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment that promotes positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing. Monitor and assess student progress, maintaining accurate records and contributing to the development of Individual Education Plans (IEPs). Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and the SENCO to implement effective support strategies. Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing updates on progress and involving them in their child’s learning journey. Participate in staff meetings, CPD sessions and school-wide initiatives to support whole-school SEND practice. Uphold the school’s safeguarding procedures and ensure the wellbeing of all pupils is prioritised. Candidate Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential. Experience teaching in a primary setting, with a sound understanding of the primary curriculum. A strong working knowledge of SEND practices, especially in relation to Autism, ADHD and learning difficulties. Proven ability to adapt teaching strategies to support a wide range of learning needs. Committed, resilient and able to build positive relationships with pupils, families and colleagues. Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a proactive and reflective approach to teaching. Additional SEND training or qualifications are highly desirable.
