Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant
Axcis Education are looking for a special educational needs teaching assistant for a SEND school in the Burnley area.
The school is a large SEND provision which caters for children aged 4 - 17 years of age who have a range of needs including autism, ADHD, MLD, complex needs, downs syndrome and some challenging behaviours. The school is based on the outskirts of Burnley and the ideal candidate, would have access to a car as there is plenty of on site parking but limited options on public transport. The school is a large, welcoming and inclusive provision who are seeking a new teaching assistant to join their growing team from September 2025.
The role will require you to work on a 1:1 and small group basis with children who have a range of additional needs. You may be expected to work with a range of ages and personal care may be required of you from time to time. The role will start in September but it is highly likely the school would meet you prior to this.
The candidate suitable for this role will have an understanding or experience working with children who have additional learning needs and have a calm, patient demeanour. The candidate must be available between the hours of 830am - 330pm Monday - Friday and pay for this role will start at £89 per day.
