Job Title: Primary School SEN Teaching Assistant, Smethwick
Location: Smethwick
Pay: From £13.86 per hour (dependent on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm (Full time)
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Smethwick. This is a full-time position providing both 1:1 and small group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them engage with their learning and achieve their developmental goals.
About the Role:
As part of a nurturing team, you’ll work closely with children who require additional support, delivering tailored interventions and promoting a positive learning environment. The ideal candidate will be proactive, patient, and committed to making a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with a range of SEN
• Assist with the implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
• Support children's academic, emotional, and social development
• Collaborate effectively with teaching staff and SENCO
• Create an inclusive and engaging learning environment
Requirements:
• Proven experience supporting children with SEN – Essential
• A positive, compassionate, and adaptable approach
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• A valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
