About the Role
Axcis Education is working in partnership with a highly supportive Primary Special Needs School in Greenford, Ealing, to recruit a compassionate and experienced Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term position starting in January 2026.
This role is based within a Reception class supporting pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). Pupils have a range of complex medical, physical, and learning needs, requiring a high level of care, attention, and tailored support throughout the school day.

Key Responsibilities
-Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with PMLD and complex needs
-Deliver high-quality personal care, including toileting, hygiene, and physical support
-Support pupils with feeding, including PEG feeding (where trained)
-Assist with sensory-based learning activities appropriate to early years development
-Use communication methods such as PECS, Makaton, and sensory cues
-Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and care plans
-Work closely with teachers, therapists, and medical staff to ensure holistic support
-Monitor and record pupil progress, wellbeing, and daily care needs
-Promote a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
-Previous experience supporting children with PMLD, complex needs, or in an EYFS SEND setting
-Experience or willingness to support personal care and feeding routines
-Experience with PEG feeding (or willingness to be trained) is highly desirable
-Knowledge of PECS, Makaton, or alternative communication methods
-Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
-Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
-Enhanced DBS on the Update Service
-Ability to commit to full-time hours from May 2026
