Job Title: Learning support Assistant
Location: Havering, RM11 Pay: £14.25 - 16 p/h Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:45 AM – 4:30PM Starting Date: September 2026 We are looking for a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work within a classroom supporting students aged 16–19 with a range of SEND needs in a mainstream college. The role involves providing individual and classroom support to help students overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and develop their independence. Personal care support will also be required when necessary, so candidates must be comfortable providing this support when required. The successful candidate will be patient, caring and confident in supporting students with a range of additional needs. The role involves providing 1:1 academic support, helping the student engage with classroom activities and follow their learning plan, while working closely with teaching staff to monitor progress and encourage independence. Personal care support will also be required when necessary. We’re looking for someone who is patient, caring and proactive, with strong communication and teamwork skills. Previous SEND experience is desirable but not essential. An Enhanced Child and Adult DBS is required, or willingness to obtain one.
