Learning Mentor – High School (SEND) – Axcis Education
Location: LS13
Daily Pay: From £89 per day (depending on experience)
Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday

Are you passionate about supporting young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Do you have experience working with children or young adults, either personally or professionally? Axcis Education is seeking a dedicated learning mentor to join a supportive high school team and make a real difference in students’ lives.
The Role:
• Provide 1:1 or small group support to students with a range of SEND, including SEMH, autism, and learning difficulties.
• Work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs, and other support professionals to deliver tailored support plans.
• Encourage students to engage with their learning and help them build confidence and independence.
• Help manage behaviour positively and support students’ social and emotional development.
Requirements:
• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND (personal or professional)
• Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to working with young people
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with staff, parents, and external agencies
Desirable but not essential:
• Previous experience as a Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, or Youth Worker
• Relevant training or qualifications in education or SEND
