Position: Full-time (Monday – Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm)
Pay: From £89 per day (PAYE)
Contract: Long-term
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Key Stage 1 SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in West Bromwich. This is a full-time, long-term position, starting as soon as possible in November, with a commitment required for at least one full academic year.
You will be providing 1:1 support for a pupil with special educational needs, helping them to achieve their academic and personal goals within a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with special educational needs
• Support the pupil’s academic learning, social skills, and emotional wellbeing
• Follow and contribute to the pupil’s Individual Education Plan (IEP)
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other school staff
• Foster a safe, positive, and engaging classroom environment
Requirements
• School or nursery experience is essential – nursery experience will be considered for candidates with strong early years and SEN understanding
• Experience supporting children with special educational needs
• A patient, caring, and adaptable approach to working with young children
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• A DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
