Job Title: Interim Headteacher Location: Yeovil, Somerset Contract: Full-time, Temporary Sector: Education - Pupil Referral Unit Pay: In accordance with the leadership pay scale, and a leadership allowance will be included. Job Description: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Interim Headteacher to join a Pupil Referral Unit in Yeovil, Somerset, for the upcoming autumn term. This is an exceptional opportunity for an inspiring leader to make a meaningful impact in a specialist educational setting that supports both primary and secondary pupils. As Interim Headteacher, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and leadership to ensure the highest standards of education and care are maintained. You will lead a dedicated team in an environment that supports pupils with social, emotional, and mental health needs, helping them to overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential. Key Responsibilities: - Lead and manage the overall day-to-day operations of the PRU, ensuring a safe, supportive, and stimulating learning environment. - Develop and implement strategies to improve teaching and learning outcomes, taking into account the unique challenges and needs associated with SEMH pupils. - Drive excellence in educational standards, pupil progress, and behaviour management. - Foster positive relationships with pupils, staff, parents, external agencies and the wider community. - Manage resources effectively, ensuring financial stability and compliance with statutory obligations. - Lead by example, promoting an ethos of inclusion, resilience, and respect throughout the PRU community. - Develop and maintain an effective framework for staff development, performance management, and succession planning. - Ensure effective policies and procedures are in place, including those for safeguarding and pupil welfare.
