Axcis are working with a mainstream primary school in Nailsea who are looking to recruit a TA to work 1-1 with a YR6 child with SEMH (social, emotional and mental health issues). The pupil has had a traumatic start to life and is in foster care. You will need to be sensitive, kind and patient. The role starts immediately and will run till the end of term at least. There is potential for the role to become permanent for the right candidate.
The school is a large and well resourced with a 'good' OFSTED rating. It's popular with many of our staff and the school's permanent staff are very welcoming and supportive. The school's grounds are large and beautiful with a forest and a pond. The school is situated on the outskirts of Nailsea so car drivers will be at an advantage.
You will need to be able to quickly establish trust and rapport with the child. They've had a very difficult home life and have just been moved to foster care. You will need to be empathetic, compassionate, calm and kind. The child exhibits challenging behaviour and needs a lot of reassurance and a positive role model. You will need to be skilled at de-escalation and recognising triggers.
You will be supporting the child with all of their studies and you will need to work well with the class teacher and the school SENCO. The school hours are 8:30-3:30pm, we pay every week on a Friday a week in arrears. Don't delay - apply today for this excellent opportunity, send your CV to email@example.com or give me a call on 01173 736127.
This is a temporary position.
If you are interested, then please contact Charise Clarke at Axcis Education on 0117 373 6127.
This is a temporary position unless otherwise stated.
Please note: The details of this job are correct as of the start of the school closures. We anticipate that there will still be a need to fill this vacancy either on the expected timescale (as many of the schools we work with will remain open to support SEND/Keyworker children) or when schools re-open. We are therefore continuing to accept applications but please bear with us as there may be a delay on the listed start date due to the fact that the situation is continually evolving.
