Axcis Education current has a vacancy for an Education Mentor to work on a 1-1 basis at a specialist education centre for children with ASC and SEMH in Exeter.
The school provides a nurturing and bespoke education to primary and secondary pupils that have previously struggled to work in a mainstream environment. The pupils have a range of additional needs including ASC and SEMH
The school day includes individualised lesson plans and outreach sessions each day. The role of 1-1 Education mentor is to support the pupil during their class and also with activities such as swimming, soft play, forest school or beach activities. You will provide encouragement, advice, nurture and emotional support whilst assisting with their behaviours in school
and in the community.
Previous experience must include having worked with children and young people that have SEN. A strong knowledge of safeguarding is a must. In addition you must be able to commit to full-time term time work for the rest of the academic year.
For this role it is essential that you are a car driver with your own vehicle and business insurance.
Hours are 9am to 3.15pm, Monday to Friday and the pay is £75 to £80 per day.
