JOB TITLE / ROLE:
1-1 Teaching Assistant ADHD - Winchcombe - Gloucestershire - Role: SEND TA Jobs
Looking for your next challenge in SEND?
Axcis are currently recruiting for a TA for a primary pupil referral unit in Winchcombe. The role is 1-1 support for a child with ADHD and is five days a week 8:30-3:30pm. Starting in September, this role will go on at least till half term. The child is in Y3 and you will be supporting them with their studies. The pupil referral unit is for children whom have been excluded from mainstream school. Many of the children there exhibit challenging behaviour and have difficult home lives. Resilience and patience are a must. There is excellent potential for progression in this pupil referral unit, with many staff being taken onto permanent contracts after a short period of supply work.
The school has a strong team of permanent staff who can support agency supply. The pupil referral unit has some small animals on site, and encourages the children to learn about looking after them. There is a strong focus on pastoral care and the children's mental health is important to the school. You must have effective classroom management skills to be considered for this role. Those with Team Teach training would be at an advantage.
If you are a caring, friendly and patient individual then this could be just the kind of role you're looking for. You must have a calm nature and ability to de-escalate situations and this role will suit someone who thrives on working with young people with challenging behaviour while being a positive role model.
