Axcis Education is currently seeking a Youth Worker who is looking to transition into a school-based setting, to work within a well-established alternative provision in Skelmersdale. This is a full-time position working with secondary-aged pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups. The role will begin on a supply basis, with the opportunity to become permanent following a set period. About the School The provision supports students who are unable to remain in mainstream education. Pupils often present with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, alongside other SEND such as autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. The school day is typically structured with: • Morning: Classroom-based learning • Afternoon: Practical and extra-curricular activities To be considered for this role, you must have: • Previous experience working with SEMH needs (essential) • Experience supporting children or young people in any setting • A calm, consistent and nurturing approach We particularly welcome applicants from youth work, care, residential, coaching, or mentoring backgrounds, as these skills are highly transferable to the school environment. Desirable (but not essential): • Experience with challenging behaviour or de-escalation techniques • A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle DBS Requirement An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is required for this role.
