Want a career where your personality can make a real difference?
Axcis Education is recruiting a compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic Youth Mental Health School Support Worker to support young people aged 11–16 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a specialist alternative provision setting in Bristol.
This is more than a Teaching Assistant role. It's an opportunity to help vulnerable young people rebuild confidence, develop positive relationships and rediscover their enjoyment of learning.
A unique learning environment
You'll be joining a small, supportive education community focused on breaking down barriers and building futures. The setting offers personalised learning journeys, combining academic and vocational opportunities to help young people overcome challenges and progress towards mainstream education, specialist provision or college.
The school's most recent Ofsted inspection in September 2024 recognised its Good provision across all four graded areas, including quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management.
Who are we looking for?
We're more interested in who you are than what qualifications or experience you have.
You could be:
• An experienced Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant.
• A youth worker or mental health support worker.
• A sports coach who knows how to motivate young people.
• A support worker with experience supporting vulnerable individuals.
• Someone local with the patience, empathy and determination to make a difference.
Above all, you must be approachable, emotionally resilient, consistent and passionate about helping young people succeed.
What's on offer?
• £14.25 per hour.
• Full-time, weekday working hours.
• Immediate start.
• Potential permanent position after 16 weeks.
• Rewarding work where relationships really matter.
